Played around with cast .223 again

Just a really quick deal. Found a lil jar of MP 63 gr .227 hps I had down up a while ago. Sized them again in the .226 sizer to make sure they where right. Had some primed brass made up already for the rifle just expanded the necks out the the .226 plug....should have used the .227 but I was half asleep. went a grain up from the last load I used these in my H&R .223 before i remember them shooting kinda light. Played around ,find a seating depth my gun liked and loaded up 8. Quick test @ 50yd the next day. O e had too much PC built up around the ogive to want to change and forgot to shoot the 7th till after I had taken the target up but all in all half decent results... Velocity is kinda lower than what I was expecting honestly but few more grains should help along with more bullets with a better PC job now that I have a Neve system in place that works better.

Do you have any pictures of those boolits without pc?

Chronograph numbers look good. Were you loading those with 2015 I assume?

Never mind. I saw it in the caption by the target group.

I think you need to speed that up just a little bit to find nirvana. Maybe 15 to 17 grains.

Nice looking boolits too! I was looking at something similar but solids in an aluminum mold.

    Wolfdog,
By chance have you tested a load with and without the bayonet chronograph attached? It would be interesting to know if the chrony affects the group size. I have seen information that implies that an attached chrony will impact the barrel harmonics. The question is, how much of an effect. Is it 0.1 MOA or 0.5 MOA or more? Just food for thought.
