    460 Guns and Ammo help

Afternoon, I have a question about what moulds any of you would recommend for my 460G&A? I love the Hornady DGX and DGS but cost and availability are difficult. I'm very experienced with casting but never have for a rifle of this caliber. I do have an RCBS .45-533-RN but I wasn't sure if that was a good choice. Thank you for any help!

I'm not familiar with the G&A . In 45-70 in an 1895G I can single feed the NOE 460-535 version of the 458132 Postell and the 45-500 . I don't even try to drive either one hard . Cast soft the Postell RN should be effective even fairly slow .

The 462-420 MP is a good choice if you want to push one . It has a large flat point and I would expect it to have a significant tissue disruption effect.

The 460 G&A is the 404 Jeffery aka 404 Rimless Nitro Express , necked up to .458 and fire formed ... Seems like 500 grain J-word projectiles were used to develop loads . If you have a RCBS .45-533-RN in your possession ... that would be as good a place and as good a boolit to start with ...
I have no idea where you will find loading data ...

I remember reading about that cartridge when it was 1st developed since I subscribed to G&A starting Nov 1974 but I've forgotten what it is based on since then. Best I recall it had ballistics something like the 458 Lott or a bit more???

Yeah, now I recall. The 404 Jeffery. The original Jeffery has about 80% capacity of a 460 Weatherby so that would be my starting point for loads. But if the OP has the rifle I'm assuming he already has workable load data. Anybody who would use the Handle of 334okh has to be a gun nut through and through. Elmer would be proud!

Thank you very much for the replies.
The 460 GandA was supposed to be somewhere between the.458 WM and the 460 Weatherby. I love the gun but since I have so much lead and, I like casting I thought I should give it a try. As for Elmer Keith, yes, I am a big fan of his. So much so that I own his Ford Bronco and have a few more things of his. Thank you all again for your help!
