    0.4mm vs 0.6mm nozzle

Has anybody played around with using larger than the standard 0.4mm nozzles on the 3D printer? A few months back I tried a 0.8mm nozzle and wasn't very impressed with the results even after changing the appropriate in Slicing program. Yesterday I changed to a 0.6mm nozzle with changing the layer heights to max of .48mm as well as the max volumetric speed setting to 20 mm³/sec. The results looked about the same as the normal prints I'd done, but the time was cut almost in half.

Using this item as a test https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6606680/files with the standard 0.4mm nozzle SuperSlicer calculated 54 minutes to print. With the 0.6mm nozzle it was 31 minutes to print. The results were about the same.

    Anybody else change nozzle sizes?

Larger nozzle is faster but typically yields a rougher surface finish. The desired end result usually dictates which size to use.
