Elmer was a "bigger is better" man and in some cases he was right. But, I never read or heard of him saying that the .375 H&H was the only elk rifle. Elmer was opinionated of course, but his opinions were based on actual experience and not from reading other peoples writings. I personally knew people at one time who took elk with the 30-06 and had no problems doing so. Range and bullet placement is key. He championed the .333 OKT(misspelled probably) for anything on the NA continent except for grizzly/brown. I corresponded with both Elmer and Parker thru letters way back when and they always answered my letters with questions. I should have kept those letters but did not. This before computers of course. james
