    Noe 311184

    Just sharing my experience.
So I got my new mold for my 30-30.
Barely works for the 30-30 though.
Cast at .313, so sizing down to .310 is tight. Also the nose cast large at .303 which is the main problem, have to seat the bullet a little to deep to keep from cramming into the lands to far.
I have changed temps and alloy composition, makes no difference.
Might give these boolits a try in my M91 Mosin.
I think I'm going to get a Lyman 311041 and hope it cast at least .310
    Failure is not an Option

That is the NOE clone of the RCBS 30-180FN and that was my favorite 30-30 caliber mold for rams back in the oughts. Mine was an RCBS and cast the nose @ .300, the body @ .310. It was a very accurate boolit with 30 grains of WW748.

I have the same problem in my 94 Winchester but the Handi Rifle chambers just fine.

NOE rifle molds have always cast the nose too large. All of them….

Just tried them in another marlin.
    No go, nose to large.
Looks I am going to put it up for sale or maybe try them in the Mosin.

Just about the only "cure" I know for that is getting a mold that has tumble lube ridges on the bore riding portion. That way it'll engrave on the rifling when you close the action and of course the ridged portion can be dipped after loading the cartridges (an air hardening lube that doesn't stick to grit).
