As a gardiner and veggie grower I neve kill any Bees, why would I?
Are you not dependent upon insects for pollination?? Why on earth would you kill a bumblebee?
Here's an air gun made for the task;

OK that's kind of a cool little gun. I can see uses for it.
I'd Reload the Shot Shells with #12 shot which is what .22 Rimfire Shot Shells are loaded with.

Shiny butts are carpenter bees that try to destroy your shed. Fuzzy butts are bumble bees that pollinate. Carpenter bees get swatted with my hat, flip flop, or a load of 38 spl with grits, what ever is handiest.

That's a waste of good grits! Use cream of wheat, instead, as that stuff is nasty to eat!

you might want to try glue in place of the wax I use a over powder and over shot wads with glue, most of the time I load "cream of wheat" instead of rice.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

That's because you don't put cream of wheat in your beans!

I loaded some .38spl rice loads today and did a dedicated thread on them and my .45s. Vid of the .38 in there shooting a pattern.

Simple DIY carpenter bee trap. If you drill an 1/8" hole through the side edge of the bottom plate a #8 finish nail will hang the plastic water bottle by the threads. Just hang the traps by monofilament fishing line. Every spring they start the wood drilling business.
With two ponds, docks and a mile and a half of fence with wood posts, they get pesky. I just hang several traps, they work 24-7.

My pard in West Tennesse builds and hangs carpenter bee traps (he's lazy: uses Mason jars). Yet, he still enjoys blasting the occasional critter that buzzes in close to his shade tree... He's been using rock salt, but I have made him aware of what has been posted here.

I would never kill a bumblebee but I sure would a carpenter bee.
I bet you might if they had built a nest under the dash of your 1961 Chevy Apache! There's a story to THAT!
