Good day in shop today.

I have been getting Tuesdays off from work at my second job so we can all expect to see progress made on orders and correspondence these days. Also second job work is getting easier leaving me with a little time in evening to work on orders.

I'll keep you all posted and as of right now progress is being made and I thank you all for your patience.

Another good day in shop. I was able to get off work at my second job by 1pm so I had the rest of the evening to put dies together. Hopefully there will be a lot more days like today in my mail delivery future. Feels like I have finally got things figured out at the new job and the three month probationary period is coming to an end so things should get better.

Progress is being made again in the shop. Thank you for your patience in allowing me the time I needed to get my life back in order.

oh... on a positive side note, I have lost 60lbs in the last 6 months! That is one good thing about the job I guess.

I am making progress on my time in the shop. Each week I get a full day and there are a few evenings during the week I get a few hours.

I expect to take a big chuck out of this work order list very soon.

Made some great progress in the shop over the last couple days.

I feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on these remaining orders as well as life returning a bit back to normal.

I haven't forgotten about any of you on my list and I'm working towards filling all your orders with top quality products.

This is what you all are waiting for! The ability to make perfect bullets with the tooling and dies you have ordered. This is how I thank my customers for your patience, I provide you with tooling and dies that does what I say it will and does it to the best of my abilities. It takes me a long time and there always seems to be delays but I stand by my word when say it will be worth the wait. I'll let you all judge for yourself with the perfect 150 grain 30 cal bullet made from scrap 9mm brass pictured below.



Progress is slow but moving forward and results are looking great.

p.s. made this bullet on my improved Lee Classic Cast press including drawing down the 9mm brass, it is not fast, but it is perfect.

Do you all know what an awesome hunting bullet that would make! Tapered jacket walls for controlled expansion and a solid brass base for high weight retention and deep penetration! Think Speer deep curl/grand slam bullets!

Here is a pic I took a long time ago of sectioned 30 cal bullets. Left is 5.7 jacket and the other two are 9mm jackets. The bullets are not perfect in this pic (nearly 15 years ago, my abilities have come a long ways since then) but what I want to show is the tapered jacket walls and thick solid base!





and here is recovered 5.7 on left and 9mm on right, I don't remember all the details but bullets where probably shot from my 300 WM!



Looking closer.... might be a 5.7, 223rem and 9mm for jackets? No matter, the fact is scrap brass makes some impressive bullet jackets!

Been getting time in the shop lately and making progress.

Working on 30 cal dies and copper tubing dies.

Here is a look at some 50 cal jackets from 1/2" copper tubing....





Here a look at two 350 grain .500 cal bullets, one from copper tubing and other from 45ACP brass

One more order shipped.... Down to 10 on my main list.

It was a big order out the door.

I'm on to next order. Should have several 30 cal orders finished next along with remaining 22 cal order and the quick turn orders.

Polishing 8 sets of 30 cal dies right now! Got the boat tail dies all polished up today.

Exterior of the point form dies are polished and will work on polishing the bullet cavities tomorrow. The bullet cavity of the point form die is the critical surface of course and takes a bit of time yet I expect excellent results!

First day of polishing 30 cal point form dies......

Polishing point form dies is a bit like gambling, you have to machine it undersized with just enough material left over to polish to a perfect finish without going over on the final bullet diameter. You will not know what you come up with till you check by swaging a bullet. If your good you are right on bullet diameter, it rarely is perfect after the first polish. This is OK, you just get to gamble again with a second, third or however many it takes to get right on that perfect diameter and perfect function of the die.

Good news is all 8 point form dies are not oversized.

Many are close to perfect but going to work on them one at a time now with additional polishing.

Progress is being made.

Polishing this one die takes some time but it is the one "critical" die that has to be perfect!

I'm down to just 9 orders left to fill on my list plus 4 small orders.

I have completed a lot of work on the 30 cal orders and shouldn't need much longer to fill all those orders.

My day job has been demanding a lot more of my time then usual these last couple weeks. Been working 8-10 hour days 6 days a week.

I'll have more progress to report soon on remaining orders.

I'm still here and still slowly making progress on all orders.

Just to give you all a look at what my latest batch of 30 cal dies and the bullets they make are capable of...

Here is a look at a 3 shot, 100 yard group from a customer that just received his dies.

168 grain bullets with Sierra jackets shot from 308Win



We are still fine tuning. Customer reported this group was shot from his first batch of 100 bullets from the new dies.

I have over a dozen of these exact same 30 cal die sets here I am working on for all of you still patiently waiting on these dies. Just wanted to show you the potential of these bullets from these dies and that I will do my part to make it worth your wait.

Had three days off from my day job..... Spent first day with daughter touring a college. Spent last two days working in shop.

Had a good day today. Made 5 successful 30 cal boat tail base punches. I think I finally found the perfect steel to make these punches with. It takes a good day and a good frame of mind for me to get these punches perfect and today was a good day. All you 30 cal customers will be able to expect good things from these punches. I'm that much closer now to getting all the 30 cals on order out the door. I'll keep you all posted.

Got a few copper tubing die orders to fill. Getting copper tubing die orders takes me longer but got everything here ready to be pollsihed and assembled.

I will always contact customer before I ship your order. Most of time I'm in contact with customer while I'm setting up their dies.

oh... customer wanted dies set up for 168 grain 30 cal bullets from 5.7 brass. I hadn't made any at this weight till now and I got to say it may be the perfect weight bullet for the 5.7 brass jacket, really turned out perfect!

I'll see if I can get a pic of it. Turned out so well I'm thinking I should make me some! I know the 178 grain bullets I shot from a 300WM shot 1/4 moa!

No longer work for USPS. What a demanding job that was. Just not enough time off.

I have been able to catch up on a lot of my back orders here and continue to make progress.

I have taken a new part time job to provide health insurance for the family. This job has guaranteed days off to allow me time to spend with both family and my Swage die business.
