I think I've read about a marlin 444 upper. Wouldn't that bolt work with 44 mag?

The bolt mod for a 44 Rem Mag is pushing it as far as I would take it. I wish someone would make a 44 mag specific bolt.
The 44 Mag rim diameter is .514, the .473 rim of the 458 SOCOM in the AR-15 is pretty much the max diameter you can use on an AR-15 bolt. I'm sure it could be done on an AR-10 but then you have the extra length of the magazine to contend with. I made an AR-15 upper in 44 Auto Mag using the 458 SOCOM bolt and it works great. You can even get brass from Starline or loaded ammo from SBR.
