Looks like Sig merged their x-series slide (w/red dot sight mount) with a hammer-fired, stainless steel, 1911 frame. I wonder how strong & reliable these things will turn out to be?

Sig does it right, so I expect the gun will work as well as any they have made over the years. It's just sad to see that most 1911 makers have slimmed their lines to 9mm and .45 acp.

For bottom feeders, Sigs look pretty good. I have the P320 in .357 Sig & .40 S&W. The .357 Sig is accurate and reliably fires any ammo I can load. The .40S&W is very, very picky about ammo (requires small meplat, and struggles more with PC bullets). I’ve seen people give up on this combo on the Brian Enos forum. It’s disappointing to say, but the P320 in .40S&W with the 4.7” barrel is not reliable for a carry gun.

I’ll be watching out for reviews on this. If the launch is successful I’ll be getting one.
