I’ll take that under consideration. Currently looking to find a thread reducer for the percussion nipple inlet. Inner thread to be M9x1.5, outer thread just something bigger. Shouldn’t be too hard to find right?

I admire your perseverence. It seems like a worthy project to make shootable again. Considering the nasty things I encountered some years back with the Gahendras and other exotics from Nepal, your musket is in pretty decent condition.
Aye! And being what it is, reproduction parts are fairly available. I’d be hard-pressed to aattempt it with something more obscure, or if the lock wasn’t functional, but even there, things can be fabricated and repaired.
Ok, the forend repair piece arrived today, along with one for my Krag. Here is the current photo of them both, along with my M91 Carcano, to which I fitted a block of wood I’ve been carving out for some time now. Still needs some filing down and sanding, but it still looks better with a nose cap and the extra wood. The other two will look better when done, though there will be some disjointedness with the Krag, and I do not yet have the other bands or springs for the M1842.
