Hi Everyone,
I have a 50 cal Miroku flinter that I've had for awhile now and just haven't taken the time to play with it much. Think I've fired it three times shortly after I got it, cleaned it, and just started thinking about it a month ago or so. I'm planning to go visit and hunt with an old friend in Missouri this year and I'd like to take a deer with it. I'm curious as to what a good charge of powder would be for out to 100 yrds. I'm thinking that I probably won't have to shoot that far (from what I've heard), but if I have too...well, I'd like to be prepared. My normal hunter is a Hawken style 54 cal. I shoot 100 grains of 2f behind a conical, but this 50 has a 1:66 twist so round ball it is. I have both 2f and 3f Goex powder. Whatcha all use for hunting? Thanks for all of your wisdom.
