I do a lot of restorations in my shop, projects out of the norm, odd lots and off radar.
When I hit yardsales I no longer cherry pick tool boxes, but just make an offer for the whole thing, cash and throw it in the truck.
My last box had the usual tools and beat up Kershaw Amphibian knife. Thought what the heck, clean that up, put a new handle on that and it will make a dandy little throwing knife, got lots of scrap maple kicking around.
Simple little project and it IS dandy throwing knife!
While I was doing this I was turning an ash walking stick for a friend of mine that is a martial arts master- tweaked and turned to his specs. I started to wonder about a sword cane like they had in the old days. Might be a fun project anyone made something like that? I'd need a blade perhaps 18-24 inches long, maybe a little thicker and narrower than most things out there.... Thought I'd toss that out for input.
