Ran into an interesting use of Hodgdon Triple Se7en fffg in brass cartridges by Fortunecookie45lc on YouTube.
So what's the skinny on using wads and lube under bullets with black powder and substitutes? Do you use wads? What's your technique for 777 in straight-walled brass cartridges?
He shows how to use 777 (in multiple videos), and how to make wads using a sharpened .45ACP case to punch out very thin cork/paper hybrid wads using cork shelf paper. Con-tac paper at Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Tact-Brand-...a9c0027d0&th=1
He proposes putting Crisco as lube between two of these cork/paper wads, ending up with paper facing the bullet's base and the other side's paper facing the powder.

He also talks about using 777 with .44 Mag and even 500 S&W Mag pushing 440-grain Lee slugs.
