I have 50 pcs of 220 Swift Brass converted to 7.62x45 and wondered what i could use to seat bullets since dies for this caliber are unobtainable or on backorder for over a year. Any ideas? Thanks

The hornady 30 cal seating dies are universal. If the body is too long, you could trim the body to make a shorter die. The cost shouldn't be too much at all.
Cost is around $30 for the seating die.
They make seating dies for shorter cartridges like 300blk and 7.62x39, etc.

A universal seating die made by frank Arsenal. works great \. lee bullet seaters for 30cal will probably work.
I would try a 7.62x39 die first.

7.62x39 die will do fine. The 7.62x45 is just a slightly longer version.

The 7.62x45 has a shoulder diameter of 0.416", while the 7.62x39 has a shoulder diameter of 0.396" (per wikipedia. may not be correct, but i did find a reamer or chamber print of the x45 with a 0.4157" or 10.56mm shoulder diameter), so if the seating die is cut close to cartridge specs, the 7.62x39 dies still may not allow the x45 cartridge to enter the die far enough. If more of a universal style, then of course it should work, but x39 RCBS, Redding or similar dies may not work.

I don't think that's right, but my 7.62x45 ammo is in the attic where it's out of reach for now.
Wikipedia has been egregiously wrong on other occasions, esp. when plagiarizing Barnes. I've wanted to correct one entry, but it takes an associates' degree in computer coding to actually do it. I no longer have the patience for that stuff.

Another option may be using Lyman 310 seating die for one of the shorter 31 calibers. You might have to shorten the die, might not.
I am using a 310 die set in .308 to load for .30BR.

In that vein, a .30 Herrett die would do it. Of course, find one of those . . . . . . .

That may not be right, but is all the info i could access quickly. Looking at pics of the two, the x45 shows a lot less taper, though it is longer and could possibly be that much wider at the shoulder.
I have since looked at a reamer/chamber print online that confirmed the 10.56mm shoulder diameter on the x45 vs the 10.07mm shoulder diameter of the x39

Thank you all. I need to get a set if 7.62x39 dies anyway to load my sks so i will try them, but i have been looking to get the Frankford Arsenal seating die also so might as well order that as well. It seems like i will have to eventually get the correct dies for this cartridge when i am able too find them or at least the sizing die.
