Copying a Spanish Destroyer Bolt

I make most of my jigs to hold parts out of wood.
Then I Glass bed the part into the blocks to make a perfect non marring surface.
5 minute epoxy works good enough.
But if you are going to have to use that jig several times , I use glass bedding compound which is much stronger than that 5 min.Epoxy.

I may use the jig to hole the part in the mill vise while I am machining it so I think that I will make it with steel and aluminum.

Making progress! I have the bolt shroud and cocking piece made .
They are rough but usable!
Next is the safety and firing pin and spring.
Cold weather is coming so I will have to take a break!

I made a little more progress today!
We finally have some warmer weather so I was able to get into the shop and made a firing pin spring and a firing pin!
Next will be the safety which should be interesting!

I worked on the safety in the last couple days and I am close to finishing it!
I had to make it in 2 pieces but once it is silver soldered it will be good!

I got a little work done on the bolt body.
I drilled and reamed the hole for the firing pin and spring.
Now comes the complicated part!
I have to make the lugs, groove for the ring that holds the extractor, the sear notch and other assorted features and they all have to be oriented properly!
This part will be tedious!
I would love to see the machinery used to make these parts!

The bolt is not anything special, it is a reduced 95 Mauser bolt basically.

Is this something you will be prepared to duplicate for sale? I'd love to buy one of those missing it's bolt and re-barrel it for 9x19.

No, I don’t plan to make any for sale, I would need a multi million dollar product liability insurance policy and they are not cheap!
I may consider selling copies of the dimensioned drawings that I have made from the original bolt that I am copying, but they would not be cheap because I have taken many hours to produce them.

I got a job that was supposed to be part time but since they are short staffed they asked me to work full time “until after the holidays “ , that was in the middle of October and I am finally getting the 20 hours a week!
I got detoured working on converting a 45ACP CH Auto Champ Mk lll to 9mm to size, deprime and prime brass to run trouble free through my Dillon 1050.

I am just getting back to work on the bolt today!
I am working on the ring that holds the extractor on and then I will cut the extractor groove in the body.

I had some time today and I started working on the extractor ring dies.
I made a couple out of scrap aluminum siding pieces and they need a little more work but show promise!
