Bummer, it doesn't work for me now either.
Maybe this one will work

It did/does work; thanks. I did not hear if fellow was making powder, or what he was doing? With FBI et al called, there is that possibility he was into bomb-making? -- although I'd like to think he was just trying his hands on powder making. On that subject, from what his wife told 9-1-1, he LOST both his hands as well as his sight? I could not imagine being (both) hand-less -- and being sightless in addition? Almost, imho, a fate worse than being dead! My prayers are for him and his family!

I have the same concerns wrt making primers. I am too ignorant to do any explosive stuff safely and too smart attempt it. One mistake is all it takes.
I will pay $50/lb for powder and $100/k for what I need if I ever run out of components. Heck, I can already buy 9mm ammunition for not much more than the current cost of components.

Greetings,
Since it was described as an explosion, Black Powder comes to mind.
Sad that he reportedly lost both his hands.
Some things are best left to the experts...
Cheers,
Dave
Since 4th of July is near wonder if he wasn't trying to make firecrackers. Firecrackers use some BP but also powders that are much more energetic than BP or smokeless propellants. When in the Army worked at a place that made explosives and there were plenty of safety rules and procedures. Making explosives is not a kitchen table operation done without PPE.
Good Lord....Probably a hard working, loved by his wife fellow. We all like to crack the code on something that can save us money. Somethings are just better left alone. This was the last thing he thought could happen. But, in hind sight, it should have been the first. Working in the melting end of a Steel Mill with all the inherent dangers from above and below for over 25 years I never forgot the first thing my Melting Foreman said to me day one. "You need to develop a strong sense of self preservation"
“You should tell someone what you know. There should be a history, so that men can learn from it.
He smiled. “Men do not learn from history. Each generation believes itself brighter than the last, each believes it can survive the mistakes of the older ones. Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.
