Thanks for the detail! That pull weight is just a little light for me, but certainly target weight. I personally wouldn't go much lower than 3 pounds for a hunting gun.

I’m a little late to the game here! I did a trigger job on my 223 H&R and got it down to just under 4 pounds 3 3/4 pounds) and then it creeped up to 4 pounds 2 oz in the last couple days. That darn front little trigger pin was a pain to get out! I dinged it up a little bit which almost made me cry. I didn’t want to try and get it out again which of course I tried again today and dinged it up even more I quit while I was behind and tried the graphite spray technique. Took my 4 pound trigger down to under a pound using Rockford arsenal mold, release spray! It was breaking from 14 to 16 ounces right off the bat with the first pull after spray. Testing at 15 to 20 times or more it started breaking at 20 ounces. I put everything back together and let it sit for a couple hours and retested. It’s now breaking at 26 ounces pretty consistent. I like that break. Hopefully it stays right in that neighborhood and the graphite doesn’t wear off anytime soon. Between the trigger job and bedding the fore end hopefully I can tighten my groups up. It was a one hole shooter back in 95 when I bought it brand new with some random 55 grain. Molly coated bulk ammo. I just got the rifle back recently and try two different hand loads which both would stack round on top of each other at 100 yards and then I would get, a flyer that would open my groups up to close to 1.5 inches with each hand load. I am guessing it’s because the fore end was touching one side of the barrel. Hopefully floating the front of it helps. Call of my predator hunting bolt guns triggers I have set at 1 1/4 pounds so this one is right in line with them. Probably will only use it for a plinking and target rifle anyways.
