Allow me cast a vote for Shooter's Choice FP-10 oil. Its not always easy to find but it really does work. Thin enough to move into tight spaces, dries well and really makes stubborn firearms work as they should. Been using it for over 10 years and have not had the first problem from it.
Ed's Red without acetone is my go-to for most except cleaning shotguns then I add acetone.
I used to use a dry bicycle lube on my mountain bike chains and shocks that had Teflon in it. It was good stuff. Can't find it anymore with Teflon. Teflon was probably removed due to environmental concerns.
A friend who's opinion I respect asked about gun oil. Recommened Quantum fishing reel lube, available in both oil and grease. They advertise 1/3 more distance casting over other lube's. Spendy, but was sure a fan. GW
replacement for rem-oil; almost anything but wd 40.

Guess, as usual, I'm paddling against the current here, but I'm using the "new" Rem-Oil. Bought two large spray cans of it from Midway. I spray it onto gun cleaning patches and wipe it on where needed. So far it's doing what I want it to do--no rust observed. I does seem different than the original product--thinner.
