You bet! It's a wollup on both ends! But if you don't smile while shooting it there's something wrong with you!
It has arrived! So far looks really nice, except for the little scratch on the stock, which will get covered anyway. Time to start getting things together to make ammo. Of all my 45/70 brass i have, I only have 8 R-P shells not loaded, so I guess that's what I'll start with.
I'm glad someone got it that'll shoot it instead of look at it and willing to take it out and use it as it was intended to be used. I like the picture, let us know how it does. I've got one in 45-75 and one in 50-95, one of these days I'll get one in 45-60. Black powder out of those rifles is the way to go, at least that's what works for me.
This one is my 3rd, also have a 45/75 and a Presidio 50/95. On a warmer day I'll get all 3 out for a group shot.
I've got an Uberti .50-95. Its a beautiful rifle and shoots great. But I'm getting to the point where I enjoy smaller calibers more and have thought about selling it.
Here's a short video shooting it at the 100 yard gong line.

Nice! those 50-95 cartridges are pretty fat little buggers, and that rifle looks like alot of fun. Something about the '76...even though there are more advanced rifles out there...i still am interested in it!
Head cold and a 40+ degree day and the 76's came out for pic's.
50/95, 45/60, 45/75
Took Shorty out for 3 test loads. First is with Rx7and coated MBC 350g bullets.
2nd is Swiss FF, Accurate mold 46-350DL
3rd is Goex FF, same bullet
The front sight is a marbles fiber optic and the rear is a Marbles Bullseye peep. Found the front sight was not as tight as i thought and was moving around. Fixed now with some foil shims.
Well... that wasn't the problem after all! I was shooting some GT Bullets 325gr FN through my rifle and it wasn't feed reliably. Then (after all this time) I realized it was because I was working the lever with the muzzle pointing nearly straight up - when I worked the lever with the gun held horizontal it started feeding slicker than snail snot! D'Oh again!
I'll have to give those RCBS 45-320-FN-U bullets another try.
I have always liked the looks of the Presidio! I actually remodeled a 1894 Marlin Cowboy in 45 Colt to look similar!
9 years ago I bought a .45-60 uberti NWMP 76 carbine. Lovely rifle. It had linkage issues with one side being out of spec. After a little work it chambers all my trimmed 45-70 brass. I used 292 gr rnfp lead in my reloads. Been years since I’ve shot it.
