Hawes single shots were made by Sauer in Berlin and imported to the US into the '70's as near as I can find. They seem simple and reasonably well made, but with rather flimsy plastic grips - this one the grips were broken and filled with hot glue. We've had a couple of days of inclement weather, so rooted around in the scrap pile and found some maple that needed something done with. Made the grips and a box for it. The loading blocks are walnut and lift out easily. It is more accurate than this old man and is a bit happier now.
