thank you. one of mine too. It's a shame nobody is chambering 7 x 57 anymore.
I was going to get her a tikka T3 but a compact wasn't available in 7-08. I used to have a model 7 Kevlar SS but the rifle was a dog and it went down the road.
I already have an old ruger tang safety 77 in 7-08 I bought used in 1990 which is a 1.25" rifle at 200 yards all day from the bench. The magazine and throat allow me to load out an 1/8" over the saami spec of 2.8" (pictured)
Of course none of that ammo will fit in her rifle. I spent sunday morning at the bench loading some 140 grain fusions and 139 grain hornady for her. This rifle is decently accurate so far. I'll need to tweak some loads for it. I also loaded some 7mm hunters at about 1/2 throttle for her to practice with this weekend

Another Colts single action revolver but in 32-20 this time..No need for pistol primers or hard to get powders.
I took a Ruger Redhawk 44mag and Marlin 336 XLR in 30-30 on a trade deal. Last gun I actually bought was a M&P 2.0 in 10mm
A Henry Mare’s Leg in .45 Colt. These are pretty hard to find in my neck of the woods. A few years ago they were everywhere. This one is gonna get drilled and tapped for a Skinner sight and a proper length stock.
I’m callin’ it my Steampunk Rifle.

Attachment 306301I stopped a a local sporting goods store today just for a small item. I happen to look at the guns they carry and what do I find ? A new in the box 12 ga. Pump for $ 149.99 ! After looking it over I said to self……You should buy this because you cant buy New Pump Shotguns for $ 150. I think it has something to do with the strong US dollar making imports like this shotgun from Turkey go for less US $$$ ? This is a Hatsan Escort Slugger - it has some neat features like it comes with stock shims that can change the drop at the comb and put left or right cast into the buttstock. I have taken it down to bare bones and reassembled it and it is real close to a Rem. 870 in its design. It has a alloy receiver and a molded trigger guard. It’s got a nice soft recoil pad, sling swivels, and a dovetailed top on the receiver if you want to mount scope rings. When you shuck it it has the feel of a 870 and is real solid. I loaded it up with 5 rounds and ran them as fast as I could and it fed , shot and ejected them all just fine, no hiccups.
I certainly didn’t need this but it will make good trade material down the road.

Was at Academy 3 mos. ago. They had the new Ruger Max 9 for 279$. They are399$ now.Just lucky i guess.
Marlin 1894CB .45 colt
Picked up an Ithaca Model 37 two days ago. 20 gauge with a Polychoke. Wood was dry and it was DIRTY. Figured out how to take it apart and cleaned it up. Oiled the wood 3 times and man, it turned out pretty. Had to clean the cut lines in the Corn Cob fore end, they were caked. Turned out nice though and only $300. I can't get over how light and nimble it is. Will post a pic in a few.

You did great, those Ithacas are great shotguns. I always glass bed the upper receiver to the stock to prevent the characteristic crack from appearing. Because it will.
