Hey all.
I got some ingots from a friend of mine. He said that it took long for them to cool when he made them. It was originally a weight with some paint or something similar on the outside, he told me.
With this in mind I got them tested at the scrap yard and the XRF gun showed a content of 6sn16sb and some of them 5.5%Si.
Have any of you used ingots with Si for casting? Do you thing this is some contamination from the layer outside of the original lead? And the last and most important question, does it matter? Because of its high antimony content it would be great to alloy up soft alloy.
Thanks
