Someone has probably thought of this but here goes; how about cutting the neck off of the .223 brass leaving the shoulder on. then cut the base off leaving a brass tube with the shoulder still connected. Then anneal. after annealing, push into a die that you custom made to flatten the shoulder area into a basic jacket. The area where the point would be formed would be would have a thick case wall. could this work? I'm sure it would take some work.
