I saw an ad on Gun Broker for new in the box 1892 Winchester rifles. Anyone know where these are made and by whom?

A GUN THAT'S COCKED AND UNLOADED AIN'T GOOD FOR NUTHIN'........... ROOSTER COGBURN
Miroku made some.
Most likely Miroku ,good guns after you lose the tang safety if it bothers you . I have one in 45 Colt for just one bullet and one purpose, bears during hunting season in some places.
Sadly we cant make anything any longer so they are made in Japan and they are fantastic. Yes they have a stupid tang safety, and there are gunsmiths that can fix that problem and put it back like a 92 should be. Now if we could get the Japanese to make Marlins. Think how fine they would be. ( I cant believe I am saying that but it is true)
What's your 45 colt bear bullet and load? Have a 16" Rossi 92
I have one of the Miroku built Winchester 1892's and it's an excellent gun. I'd rather not have the rebounding hammer and tang safety, but they haven't caused me any trouble. It's the smoothest and easiest cycling lever gun I've ever owned. It seems accurate, but I just use it for plinking at gongs from close up to maybe 150 yards and have never tested it for bench accuracy on paper.

300 gr. 454” Accurate g/c mould 19 grs H110 , it’s a Paco Kelly tested load and is very accurate.What's your 45 colt bear bullet and load? Have a 16" Rossi 92
The Miroku 92's are good rifles. The one I have is much better feeling than the Rossis I have but not close to my original 92's.

I don't care one way or another about the tang safety, but do the new 1892's have light strike problems like the 86's?

I think Chiappa is making them for Pedersoli. No stupid safety either.
I have one in 44 mag and it is top notch. The safety is bothersome.
Mike
What is bothersome about the safety? Looks, or does it interfere with shooting?
Sam Sackett
The bothersome part is forgetting to take off the safety and getting a click instead of a bang. It’s not hard to do. It’s on me, I know it’s there. Just different than my other lever guns.
I actually like it when I’m cycling ammo out to empty the gun.
Mike
There was an article in Rifle magazine about how to modify it so that you have to pull back the hammer slightly to engage the safety. I think you just trim down the hammer strut so it sits more forward and blocks the safety from moving.
