Just been given a Hoch 460400 / C2436 mold to try and it seems to be casting a bullet that requires a gas check. I can not find any info to confirm this. Help please. Jim Miller

If that mold were mine, I'd locate it on my Mill and remove the "gas check" aspect. Since it isn't yours, what I would do is PC the cast bullets and not worry.
So,put on gas checks. I never understood why they put gc's on those top pour molds, but they do. If you have a swinging bottom and top like ant Hodh mold I have ever seen, machine off the bottom will ruin the mold, unless you machine to fit bottom plate. I like those 460's in my Trapdoor and a few others.
