Loaded about 200 40 S&W. Loaded 800 over the past few days and I am now pretty good for the steel/uspsa matches for a couple months...
Next is 45 ACP...

Loaded 200 223 then went to the range and unloaded a bunch of 350 Legend. Beautiful day at the range! Nice light crowd, range closes for races the next few weeks so we were getting in some parting shots.

I wet tumbled around 5 thousand .224 jackets, made from 22rf cases.
Cut some lead cores for them. Will size the cores tomorrow, while the cases are in the kiln.
Yep, Laguna Seca is not just a shooting range, it's also a Raceway!
Someone found bullets in a parkinglot a few years ago and the range has been closed for races ever since. There was a feeling that the bullets were salted. That and drunk race fans climbing the fence and wandering onto a Hot range .

Got out the Lyman 9mm hp devastator mould.
Wow those are beauties‼️. I have yet to cast one that pretty.
Finally got out to fire 30 test rounds of new arsenal 40-165-WFN Two different powders. My first experience of more powder less speed. Also ordered a MP 402 160 Hp. Only heard of them here today. Thanks Mal
Thanks. Been pourin the silver stream since the 70’s
I got impatient waiting on the new MP I ordered. Lol gotta love the various pins. Penta, cone, flat, round etc. He does a fantastic job. Does Eric still hp existing lyman moulds? He too does/did a great job.
I cast some Lee 105 SWC, some C309170F, and some 309 230 gr bullets.
And I answered a "What if" question by reloading and test firing two 2-1/2" .410 shells featuring FFFFG and 7-1/2 shot.
They'll hunt.

A customer came to our shop recently with a cardboard box full of reloaded 20 gauge rounds. Every round appeared to have been recovered from a mud bath so she "donated" these to us. I saw the opportunity to salvage the lead from all 170 rounds for future needs. My hands are sore from cutting down the hulls but the lead shot was clean and will give me some spare alloy which will be melted in a separate cast iron pot away from the casting furnace. Not that I need any more 1-pound bricks to pick from but I hold on to the concept that tossing these would be close to a criminal violation of the "waste not - want not" rule.
Last weekend I cast 1,000 45 round nose flat point bullets. Got them lubed and sized through the week. Yesterday got 450 45 colt cases sized and primed. Now they are ready for powder and bullets.
Expected to get my brand-new Mp But it did not show up. Ran an experiment With a One or 2 gallon aluminum pressure cooker as a melting pot. Filled it full of range lead and turned on the gas. Did not go well burned a hole in the bottom and lead ran down into my burner and made a little bit of a mess. Experimented also with laluminum heavy duty cooking pot the one with the metal handles with a great big rivets Seems to work well. My last session I got my cast iron Dutch oven to hot and it tweeked split the side. Not all that productive a day.
You can't find steel pots in Alaska?

So far only at the store.
Loaded my first 45 Auto with the Lee #452-230-TC: water-dropped wheel weights, pan-lubed with Ben's Red, sized .452 and tumbled once in BLL.
Aluminum even if it works at first, can fail suddenly. It is very weak at lead melting temperatures.
Propane dealers often have 5 gallon propane tanks with bad or incorrect valves, pull the valve, fill with water to make sure the propane is gone, empty and cut in half. Refrigerant tanks work too but they are thinner. Restaurant supplies have stainless steel steam table inserts too.
I inspected, gas checked, sized and lubed a few hundred 38-200s. Got a bunch more to do. Ordered another box of gas checks.
