S &vW K frame and L frame - are grip frames the same size and grips interchangeable?

I'm looking at a set of grips to dress up my old M & P 38 special 5 inch K frame (square butt).

All I have ever owned are J frames and K frames. (square and round butt).

I see grips that are supposed to fit K and L frames - at east that is how they are advertised - so can you S & W folks who know - are the grips for a K and L identical and interchangeable? (I'm looking at and talking square butt grips frame)

    Many thanks.

    Jim

Yup, round butts, are round butts and square butts, are square butts.

Modern K/L grips won't be an exact fit on pre-1957 Hand Ejectors and Victory, but are close and can be fitted easily if you are patient.

Many of the aftermarket grips are a close fit but may have to be final fitted if you want a custom or factory fit look.

Thank you all - appreciate it. Fitting them to the frame not a big deal as I have done that a number of times. Just want to dress the old gal up a little. As far as I have been able to find out it was shipped the same year I was born . . . and I know that I'm looking pretty old myself!

Wouldn't it be great if we aged as well as a properly cared for revolver??
