Slowfire,
Welcome to the forum.
my suggestion is to look to Accurate.
Have you?
One minute of surfing through the manufacturers reloading manual (free PDF) found some data on page 87.

Thanks for the link JonB I have seen that data before but could not seen to find it this morning.
it's a good powder; use it in my 300 winchester magnum and 308 winchester.

From Their web site.
Abundant 5744 / .45-70 data in the Lyman 50th Edition Reloading Handbook, which if you're going to be casting, is pretty much an essential purchase.
WWJMBD?
In the Land of Oz, we cast with wheel weight and 2% Tin, Man.
One of my favorites for antique firearm shooting. lots of 5744 have I fired, all at 12-1400 fps. It is the best IMO for old rifles and I suppose newer guns too, just never used it for them..Wiah I had 8lbs myself, lucky you.
This older Accurate guide has 45-70 loads for all three levels.

One of my favorites in my 30/30, 338 WM, and 444 but a few years back 5744 was so hard to find(and expensive) that I started looking at alternatives. RE-7 works almost as well and RTed Dot works well in smaller cases. It looks like you are well taken care of for the duration. Congratulations on having plenty.

It's actually a Lovex powder, also sold here as Shooters World Buffalo.
