Need some help finding a mold that will work in both a Winchester lever and Colt SAA.
A friend of mine just picked them up.

Old Lyman # 3118. Standard for the 32-20 for years.
I could be mistaken but the Lee mold for the 32 is close.
A friend of mine could not use Lyman’s 3118 in his original Win 73 with small charges of smokeless powder, the bullet pushed into the cases when he loaded 10 for cowboy action. 3118 relied originally on a full charge of blackpowder to prevent the bullet from seating deeper as it crimps on the ogive. This isn’t an issue with revolvers.
If you re line for 308, 1-10 twist then shoot 150gr RCBS 150 FP with 4227. You may find the guns easier to load for if they all match.

Accurate has several variations of #3118 modified having a crimp groove, or gas check too if you want that.
I use 31-105T in my .32-20s and .32 S&W Longs. Close resemblance to the factory bullets in those calibers.

The ENEMY is listening.
HE wants to know what YOU know.
Keep it to yourself.
Mine has a .314" barrel so I use the RCBS 98 grain SWC .

Buy it cheap and stack it deep , you may need it !

I have a few 32 WCF rifles. One 1892 came with a tong reloader / mould that casts what is essentially a hollow based Lyman 3118 - but bumped to around 314. That bullet shoots in all of them. Trying to get a duplicate multi gang mould made.

Another one is the 311316 if I remember right. 115 grain gas checked bullet. Frank
Your friend has a die set that does NOT reduce the case enough when sized.
I use old Lyman die sets from the early 1960's for mine. With a proper M-die and careful die adjustment;
Ammo can be loaded that will function in a Lever with no bullet set back.
Perhaps an RCBS Cowboy set might work.

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.
My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

The Lyman 3118 is the only bullet I've ever used in my Marlin 1894 32-20 built in the early 1990's. Since it's the only 32-20 I have, I don't know how well it might work in other guns. I use a light load of Unique to get 1,280 ft/sec and it's about perfect for my intentions with the 32-20.
