    Hi-Point ?

I figured someone could help me
    No I don't want to buy a Hi-Point
I just would like someone to weigh a Hi-Point 9mm slide and post the weight

Right now I am working on a bolt action 9mm rifle that takes Glock mags
    Still some work to do

But when I am finished with the bolt action rifle

I had the idea to make a simple blow back semi auto 9mm rifle that takes Glock Mags

Knowing the slide weight will give me a starting point making the bolt

    I had a Hi-Point carbine
    It worked perfectly
But I really disliked the single stack mag and it was clunky to say the least

    Thanks
    John

    37 pounds.

    Just kidding!! jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

There was a fellow who created a blowback gun design spreadsheet. Name was Orion's Hammer. I don't think his website is active anymore but you may be able to find his calculator somewhere on the web. He references
    George Chinn's 1955 , "The Machine Gun", volume 4, part X

I used to know the weight, mailed enough of them back to people...

HiPoint forum to the rescue! C9 slide is 1 pound 2 1/2 ounces, bolt in the carbine is 1 pound 6 1/2 ounces. Recoil spring makes a diff on this...

The bolt assembly from my Beretta CX4 in 9mm weighs 787 grams.

I also have a Ruger PC in 9mm, but I'm too lazy to bust out the wrenches to disassemble it at the moment...If I work up the motivation later, I'll edit this with the weight.

Nothing wrong with Hi Point. I own several. Use them for hunting and fishing. That blow back design really dissipates the 9mm recoil and makes it a fun round amd fun gun. Plus its accurate. I want their carbine. It breaks my heart to watch their price go up every year. They are like 300+ now.

    Thanks
Now I can at least start planning
As I plan on a steel bolt it will take up less room
