We’ve had a spell of cold weather with very low humidity and my hands started cracking so I grabbed my trusty can of O’Keefe’s “Working Hands”. If you have never used it, the appearance is something of a blend of facial cream and Crisco. It also has almost no fragrance so nothing to stink up the place. Out of curiosity, I decided to read the ingredients, and thought the major items made an interesting blend:
Water
Glycerin
Stearic Acid
Sodium Hydroxide
Paraffin
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
Allantoin
Octydodecyl Stearate
Mineral oil
…and a few other things…
I’m going to pan lube a few 44 slugs and load them over some BP, just for fun. Might also be a good blend with a bit of beeswax. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
