30/30 would be fine, get jacketed for the other. Long skinny small dia is the worst to cast and get any accuracy and that case is HUGE. So you end up running them slow just so the cast survives. You could plink with the 270 and 7mm but why?

Whatever!
You can punch holes in paper all day, but be left wondering how they perform on game. These boolits I have recovered from various game over the years. Mostly 45/70, 45 Colt and
ROA. The small boolit in the foreground is from the unluckest fox ever, head shot with a Win '92 in 25/20 at about 80 yards.
Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!
5 shots at 200 yards out of a CPA Stevens 44-1/2 with a #4 Douglas 1:18 twist chambered in 45/70 govt. 550gr greaser shoved by an undisclosed amount of Swiss 1.5F lit by a Federal Large Pistol magnum primer. This opens up to about 2 MOA at 200 yards for 10 shots. This load piles the rams up at 500 meters all day long til the cow comes home.
Groups out of my Finn Mosins, Lyman 311332 lubed with NRA 50/50 and a Sages gator check pushed by 5744 at 100 yards.
Cast bullets will shoot and shoot well, but how well they shoot depends on the wing nut at the casting bench, and just how good he is. Those good habits have to follow you from the casting bench, and to the loading bench.
The original question was “how accurate can cast boolits be?” The answer is very! However, different shooters have different goals and different definitions and they inject them into their answers.
