The .30/06 Springfield, the ULTIMATE cartridge combat, hunting and target cartridge,a .45 single action and a good FLINTLOCK is all I need to be happy!
I have been wondering how much lead the larger Rowells hold. I wouldn't mind having one with a 20+ pound capacity...just for mixing alloy - in the ladle - in twenty pound batches ...and dumping it into ingot moulds.
Looks like I would need about a #7...

You can also find info. about Rowell ladles on the Advance Car Mover (railroad stuff) website:

Well, as it turns out, Rotometals is the best place to find capacities for Rowell ladles.
As a matter of fact, after a little comparing, I figured out how the numbers work (at least) on their big ladles. A Rowell #8 has an 8-inch bowl, and a #6 has a 6-inch bowl...and so forth.
And...the #7 (with a 7-inch bowl) has a 25 pound capacity.
So, if I ever see one on eBay, I plan to bid on it.
