Are harbour dight powders OK
Only if you use a ES spray gun. If you want to shake and bake buy it from Smoke who is a vendor on this forum.
I use the shake and bake method. I purchase my powder from smoke https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...owder-For-sale It is my understanding that he test all powders before he sales them on here. I have never had any bad luck with his powders.
I have heard that harbor freight black contains an abrasive that will hurt your barrel. This is just what I have heard. No first hand knowledge.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!
I've used Harbor Freight powders. I'd recommend you get good quality powder from Smokes or Eastwood.
What could possibly go wrong?
I have used both the HF red and yellow. I bought some from smoke and used it. Then I coated and baked some pills with HF and it still didn't cover as well as smokes powders.
I still have the HF stuff, but it's packed away.
Smokes or eastwood!
Just buy SMOKES HERE!! You will not be disappointed.

Yep, used HF. PITA and didn't work well.
Buy from Smoke. If you don't want to for some reason then get Eastwood Ford Light Blue. Probably the easiest powder to work with that doesn't come from Smoke.
Harbor Freight powder is a poor choice for shake and bake. I use their white but only mixed with other better powder.
I bought harbor freight powder first because it was local and available. The difference in quality is very noticable between it and what i now buy from a vendor on this forum
Smoke4320 is a vendor on castboolits. Every color i have bought from his worked really well. Carolina blue, signal blue, traffic purple, pink, bacon grease, flame red, wine red. I dont have a favorite, like them all. Cant beat smokes products
Smokes all the way. I love the signal blue but all of them I’ve tried have worked very well.
HF red tumbles on fine and does its job. But I wholeheartedly agree with those above. I tried Smoke's and gave away my HF powder away to a buddy. I never looked back. He's coincidentally happy with HF red for his rifle and handgun bullets. He does the ASBBDT method.
EDIT: as far ad I know, HF red has been discontinued. So the point might be moot.

I use Smokes, and have from the start.
With that said, I did stop at a shop a couple years ago that does a lot of powder coating and asked if they had any excess of colors that I could play with. They sent me home with an assortment that would probably cover 50K boolits at no cost.
Tried HF and saw guys here talking about Smokes powders, so ordered some and tried it. The HF went in the trash and I haven't looked back!!
