Not the biggest bunch we ever found but good enough for a meal or two.

Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.
I had these growing in my backyard for the last several years and never knew what they were. I found out this year and harvested them. I probably go thirty-plus pounds of them. They are one of the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. My neighbor told me I had “Hen of the Woods”, also known as Maitke.
I used to belong to a mushroom club and remember a woman with a tray of these. They were little pieces and cold. It was the best mushroom I ever had
Your picture forced me to look into my several mushroom books for the name but it was not to be found. It looks like one of the many species of oyster mushrooms, some of which are absolutely delicious and others a bit bland. Do you have any idea what the scientific name is??? A couple possibilities of dozens are Pleurotis cornucopiae and pleurotis osteatus. Some prefer rotting hardwood logs and debris while other prefer rotting conifer. OOPs- I just checked and it is "grifola frondose", a polypore which is native to the northeastern quarter of the U.S. - Unfortunately not in my neighborhood. It is not even related to oyster mushrooms. It apparently is quite expensive to buy on a par with our local chanterelles. Gastronomically it is right up there with chanterelles, porcini, and oyster mushrooms. I envy your find!
