So what are these "640" molds MP has? And why isn't the 359-640 not as popular as some other molds?
The 640 molds are a round nose flat point or wide flat nose / hollow point mold. the nose profile is the same on all the 640s. As far as popularity, they vary in weight and diameter depending on the specs of the mold.
It's the Lyman Devastator often without the gas check which most don't need at the speeds that hollowpoints are effective.

I have 3 different calibers in the 640 mold they are all very accurate bullets. The ones I have are the 44, 45 and the 480/475 and as soon as another run is made I will have one for my 500 Linebaugh. With the large hp pin installed they have a gaping cavity at the business end.
