Has anyone else tried this tool ? I have found that it is impossible to get this mold up to heat so all the bullets are wrinkled . It had other issues that I fixed but this one , not so much . Ed

The temperature of the mold has to be the same temperature of the lead melt. What is the temp of your lead? Should be between 725 to 750

Try dipping the edge of the mold into the molten lead, let it sit for a couple minutes the mold will be hot enough then.

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.
As this is a small all aluminum tong tool , 2 cavity and crimper in one , hot enough to cast is too hot to hold .
I know some folks use a separate (higher quality) mold for the casting.
Who makes this mold , and where can I get one ? Ed
I have no personal experience on this but, if I remember correctly, this is the mold I’ve read that people like.

A slight diversionary loop - but pertinent to the thread. Is there a 22LR cartridge gauge similar to what we use for centerfire ammunition? It would seem that it would be a good additional tool for reloading 22LR's.
I've looked and not seen one available. My search is based on wanting to sort all the 22LR range pick ups I have and keep acquiring - want to ensure they will fit chambers, instead of trying to use .22 Ruger or Bolt 22LR's as a "Chamber Gage"; or have one stuck in the chamber at the range.

Just got my computer back from the shop . Thanks for the mold sources . Sharpshooter sells a 22LR resizing die. I just bought one , haven't used it yet . Thanks for the input . Ed
