"KEN WATER'S PET LOADS" (Group 1 Loads)Bullet: 243 Lyman375248: 18.0 gr 4227: MV 1340: COAL 2.55. Only load I can find in my 12 reloading books.
I've have had the best results with IMR 4198 in the .38-55 in a lever gun with 255gr. bullets. I never had a single shot for heavier bullets.
Looked through all my manuals ... Nada w/ 4227.
Went to IMR 4227 load data site ... no listing for 38-55 at all ... Zip . Struck out .
Hodgdon's new load data site is a joke ... barely any info there .
Write load data down ... can't depend on the interweb to find nuttin !

I looked in both the Lyman 4th ed Cast Bullet Handbook and their 50th ed loading manual last night. No loads for IMR 4227 at all.
