picked up at a garage sale just a few blocks from home.
Lyman 3200 tumbler looks to be never used $10
4 lb jug of red dot looks like maybe a lb is gone $15
I "think" I did okay

Love garage sales and found some gems, but I would be very hesitant to buy and use opened containers of gunpowder.
Some powders might be difficult to positively ID but I don't think Red Dot would be one of them with all them little red flakes.
You did good. Red Dot should be easy to see if it is pure.

I just received a box of 45 auto rim brass .
I found it wandering on MeWe . Star line gets $121.50/500 , Midway has a discontinued RP page at $162/500 . Do you think I'm gonna get hurt at $55 shipped for RP probably closer to 600 than 500 ?
Nice score on the powder .

I've bought open powder at estate sales, just get the load data, start low, and chronograph to see if it performs as it should. I have an old jug, it works just as it should. Load pistol calibers with it. Performs well. Just go slow and analyze/check it. Nice score.

Over the years I've found just about everything related to shooting and reloading at yard sales. The very best was found several years ago in a small town some distance from where we live. It was a Winchester model 95 in 405 with 40 rounds of factory ammo, reloading dies and 100 custom swaged bullets. He sold it to me for what he said he had in it, $600.00. The fellow said he had never shot it because he heard they KICKED hard.
BIG OR SMALL I LIKE THEM ALL, 577 TO 22 HORNET.
vintage Red Dot, like from the 1970's doesn't have red markers.
Another thing to look out for when buying Garage sale "open container" shotgun powder, is lead shot mixed into the powder. Where the previous owner accidently dumped the shot hopper into the powder jug...ask me how I know, LOL. I found a kitchen screen strainer that was the correct size and would allow the powder to go through, but catch all the shot.
