A good first step is to make a chamber cast. That will best lead you in the direction of what your bullet should look like. Is this one of those Ruger #1s from a few years ago? If so you don't have the camming power of a bolt action so that will also dictate the bullet design.

I made a clone of the NRA design for my .308 Winchester rifle and it cast at 0.301". Worked well in my .308 but when I got my .303's I had poor success with the 0.301" boolit even when patched to match my 0.314" groove diameter. So I knurled some boolits up to 0.303" then paper patched and accuracy was much improved.
