Well, I have finally had it with the dripping and freezing of my Lee 4-20. As soon as I get my new NOE mold up to temp, the pour spout freezes up. I'm now about to pull the trigger on a Lyman Mag 25 since I can't find a RCBS Pro Melt 2 anywhere.

Have you tried cleaning the spout and pot out. I clear the nozzle with a #10 harness needle using a pair of vise grips.
I've cleaned it numerous times and flux the lead. I'll get a few out of it until it freezes up.
It sounds like you need to turn the heat up on it , and make sure it has time to recover after adding to the pot.
Not that a new pot wouldn't be nice
Just turned up the heat a few minutes ago. We'll see how it goes.
I would get a PID from Hatch before you buy a new pot. Have 3 Lee 4-20's all ran at different settings till I got a PID unit. Was painful.
I could try that. Since I'm fairly new here, who is Hatch?
edit:
I found it. I'll drop him a line later this evening.

It’s pretty expensive but you can back order the pro melt 2 from Midway. I have back ordered items from them recently and it is still fairly quick to get the item.
I have had the same problem a few times with my 4-20, I just have a butane torch nearby which takes care of it quickly.
710 is the sweet spot for me ... if it gets down to 680 or lower my nozzle sometimes freezes up. I have a small pen sized torch that I use on the nozzle. Works great.
I keep one of these nearby. Also works great as a portable soldering iron

I have kept my MAPP gas handy when it freezes up.
ive never had the nozzle/spout alloy solidify while casting but I like mu bolts a bit frosty lookin anyway.
I think maybe your temp is a bit low or something is not right.
there are probably thousands of us that operate the lee bottom pour pots with no problems. I guess they all drip a little bit, just put your rig on an aluminum baking tray or use aluminum foil under it and peel and drop the drip gobs back into pot. but if you bugger up the innards of the spout and rod that stops the flow might be creating more problems.
I had issues with my LEE pot, I finally had enough and got a Lyman 25. Haven't missed that LEE one time since.
