It seemed a shame to let this thread die so I thought I'd post the result of sending the HO-15 .44mag on it's third trip back to Rice Lake....this time for the Henry recall. I'm not going to pull the stock to see what they changed but the gun came back with a trigger that cleanly and consistently breaks just under 4lbs.
I guess all's well that ends well and hats off to Henry for making the rifle what it should have been to start with. When and if this current gun panic ever ends I may even shop for another SS in .357.
Yes, the stainless Scout II comes with a muzzle brake that easily screws on/off. The actual bbl length is 23", not the advertised 25". The standard blued Scout has a full 25" bbl with no muzzle brake. I have both rifles and like them both, both have really good triggers. That said, I prefer the cheaper blued version and it's longer bbl with no brake.
