Is there any advantage to using a gas checked boolit with BP? I don’t, but I do often use PCed Boolits, just because I have them on hand.

it would probably defeat the lube, and with bp, you want the lube.
if you are ever being chased by a taxidermist, don't play dead
I have used the Lyman 457483 (GC'd version of the 457124) and the Lee C457-500-FN cast of 16-1 alloy, lubed with my BP lube, GC'd with Hornady GCs over 70 gr of GOEX cartridge. Both shot more accurately leaving much less fouling in the barrel than PB'd bullets with the same load over 20 shot test strings w/o wiping out of my target TD. I suspect the GC was scraping the fouling out of the previous shot so there was not the usual build up of fouling from successive shots.
However, since GCs are not allowed in BP competition and weren't used in the original 45-70 BP loads I seldom if ever use GC'd cast bullet in my TDs. However, in my Siamese M98 450-400-70 I use those two GC'd bullets for my DG and "lessor game" smokeless loads........

457483 gas checked with 48 gr 3031 has been my go to deer hunting load
in my M86 Win 45-70 since 1963. Killed a lot of nice bucks with it.
OTOH,
No Need to use gas checks for BP, especially since the 0.060 LDPE wads create a good seal.
And, why would not the front of the base band of a PB bullet scrape just as well as a gas check???

There is not a BP reload that exceeds 1600 FPS with or without a heeled bullet that I know of ... ergo, no GC needed
