Can't be done. The sig is longer than the .40. You'd have to stretch the brass something like. 015" IIRC.
Thank you, it sounded to easy.
It is Easy, size it down and set the headspace with the shoulder and do a chamber check to be sure its correct. I load a cannelured bullet and crimp, I dont expand the neck at all, just a slight bell to facilitate bullet seating. that leaves a bit more neck tension. Tinker with it a bit and you can make it work fine.. I use the 40 brass for the field load that I wont get back when it hits the ground. It Will work...
SOFM's right, it's easy: lube the cases, single pass into a 357Sig FL sizer and you're done.
You do have an already short case neck a little shorter, but you can work around that.
There were many in this Country running it into a 357 sig die and calling it done, yes the neck will be a little short but does not seem to effect performance. Regards Stephen
Starline brass sells 357 sig for like $0.19 each and in stock.
Thanks folks I will give it a try.
Hello Mr Wolf Sadly in my part of the world the cheapest 357 Sig brass ( Starline ) is $50.00 per 100 plus $15.00 - $20.00 post.
Ouch. Sorry didn't notice you were down under. Another thread had a guy trying to make them from 40's and I was questioning why when I just bought some from Starline. Good luck, I love the 357 sig.
Yes, easily formed. I ran 357 Sig brass, 40 S&W brass, jacketed bullets, cast bullets, fast powder, slow powder ... All in one magazine, trying to get my 320 Sig to malfunction. No problems at all. I would say 50% of the ammo I run thru my 357 Sig is formed from 40 S&W brass.

I picked up so much range pick up in 357 SIG, I bought a drop in barrel for my Glock 22. I told a buddy I was collecting more and he said he would give me his. Then he gave me 600 rounds of factory. Fun round to load and shoot. I hope the OP will find some brass
Common sense Gun Safety . . .
Is taught at the Range!
I've been doing it since the .357 sig came out, the neck winds up a tad shorter, but I've shot thousands of them with only one bullet setback which I corrected with a crimp that was a tad heavier.
Are they IDEAL? Maybe / maybe not but they sure beat no shooting.
PS, on oncefirebrass dot com I found and bought several thousand .257 sig brass at $40 per thou a few weeks ago.
Regards,
Gary
