I had a little fun using this Ideal tool/mold to cast some bullets for my 1880s vintage 38 S&W safety hamerless revolver. With 30-1 alloy they came out at 151gr, .361" diameter. A perfect duplicate of the original factory bullet.

Very nice indeed. It stands to reason that the standard Ideal tool would be set up to make as close a duplicate as possible of the factory load. That round looks like it’s fresh out of the 1880s ammo factory. That is what I love most about antique reloading tools!
