Last Weekend on Ebay I found a really nice box for my Lyman Cutts Choke Tubes. Best one I'd seen in a long time of casual looking.
My Ithaca M37 (1940) which I bought from a friend, after getting out of the USAF in 1973 for $100 . It came with a Cutts Compensator and a Modified Choke Tube and was my first and only shotgun for the next 20 years. I completely refurbished it a few years ago with a trip to Ithaca for rebluing and a couple of internal parts, and new Fajen Wood (1976) that we modded to English Style similar to the 28 ga Ithaca M37's they now are selling.
Over the years I managed to piece together a complete set of Choke Tubes form Gun Shows and Shops,,, XX Full, X Full, Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Spreader,,, and the Wrench! Only thing missing was the box to house them.
Done! and after a little clean up and Elbow Grease I ended up with what I think is the nicest Vintage Cutts Box I have seen.
I was hoping that it would fit into the Motor Case with the gun but it was just a bit too tight and so it will end up in the Shotgun Accessory Bag that goes on all shotgun related trips IE: Clays and Hunting.
The gun is a joy to handle and shoot and is the slickest running pump gun I have ever handled. It will probably be the last shotgun I sell,, Someday? Now this Set is complete.
