    Remington SP20 or SP20S Wads (or replacement... if there is any?)

    I'm wanting to load some 20ga #4 buck loads and have a Lyman #5 load book which calls for the SP20 wads.
    I have looked high and low for this wad and it's replacement SP20S to no avail!

    Does anyone know of a wad that I can substitute?

    The load in Lyman #5

    Win HS or Compression Formed Plastic Case
    Win 209 primer
    Rem SP20 w/petals removed
    800X, SR4756, HS-7 or Blue Dot Powder

    They have the same as above for the Rem Premier STS case but with a Fed 209P primer which I don't have that primer!

    I am a little concerned about Rem wads myself, with the situation Remington went through. Watch for them at gun shows, that is where I find my SP12s.
    Take a kid to the range, you'll both be glad you did.

    Did you look to see if Claybuster makes a knockoff of the SP-20 ?

    I’d be willing to bet CB if not already in the works will come up with SP copies for the 12 and 20 since Remington has gone the way of the dodo bird .

    remy3424 I plan on catching the next show when it comes to town and see what I can find.

    I was able to get a bag of Rem. SP20 from a member here on CB.....fine people here for sure!!!


    I did write an email to CB and Down Range MFG and they replied that they do not have a replacement. Didn't indicate one was in the future.

    Check out Ballistic products they have replacements sp20 wads Just do a search for them, they will be the first item! They also have wads for buckshot, you can query them, and they have load info. Also they are on sale right now!!
