Mal Paso means Bad Pass, just so you know.
Went into the shop and cleaned up a little and farted around a lot.

Working on some 359-640 and a couple of Lyman 45 cal 405s. The mould name escapes me right now.
Cast up 20 Lbs worth of 500 Gr boolets for the 45-70.
I’ve had some old primed .22 K Hornet brass lying about for at least 20 years; I don’t even recall where they came from. I decided to use those primers in something that I actually have, so I carefully de capped them. They are the old rounded face type( probably Western). Humorously, 4or 5 of them had paper shims in them to tighten up the loose primer pocket! I think they will light up some Unique/58gr cast .223 loads for grins.
Helped a friend load 250 120gn pills over 3.6 grains of IMR 700X. He's the guy I wanted to help who is extremely interested in beginning handloading. I love the chance to help get another addiction started.
Continued cleaning - now I have space on my workbench.
Then powder coated a bunch of boolits I found in my cleanup.

PC'd more of those boolits and resized about 200 45 cal 350s...

Over the last couple days I trimmed 30 308w cases and loaded 20 with 30gr rl7 under a leec309-180-2r, About 2200fps. Got a pid controller and relay. But broke the Handel off my old lee press sizing 308w. Just need my thermocouple to arrive and build a box for the pid

prepped the 45-70 cases i emptied on sunday at the range.I am still surprised how much they need trimming for a nearly straight case.
The other day I cleaned up some, organized powder/components, and sold some duplicate sizing dies.
So, I had some shot shell reloading problems recently, so I loaded 3 rounds (with advice) and will carry them around in my pocket for a couple days to see if it fixes my problem. My Problem was that I was getting powder migration. So, I "fixed" it by adding a .07" card and it packed everything nice and tight. But out of 100 rounds I had one "uncrimp". Someone mentioned to put some newspaper instead of the card and it seems to be working....
I also PC'd some 40s and some 357s....

I finished my latest AR 15 rifle and I have gone the other direction and disassembled my 1900 date 1898 Krag to diagnose and cure the hitchyfeeding problem it has. I ended up using the old pull down primers that I mentioned last post to load 9mms with AA#2 and 135 gr cast. They work splendidly but impact a bit to the left from my Shield.
Been casting .41 220 grain RFN from my brass 4 cavity Arsenal mold. This weekend will break out my 8 cavity H&G #258 for the .41 220 grain Keith and run a pile.
Spent the last 30 min. Today changing over from 45 to 9mm caliber change and from large primer to small primer I think next time I’ll just save up and buy a new press,LOL. Dillon 650. Or 750. Got all the little pieces changed out and will start cranking on it tomorrow.
Loaded 100 birdshot rounds for a trap shoot on Saturday. Might need to load another 100 tomorrow - I think I've got about 150 clays...
