I repeated my test from a couple of weeks ago with Hodgdon's Triple 7. The results are quite interesting!

good job with the video!!! trip 7 is surely the higher velocity powder. too bad you cant compare the alliant black as well. look forward to your conical bullet test with the 2 powders.
Any technology not understood, can seem like Magic!!!
I will love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind.
I can’t get your video to load with my throttled-back S***tel server, but I have a question for you. Do you find the cleanup after shooting “Fake BP” to be more difficult? Specifically, my fellow shooters have been complaining that even after normal cleanup and care their various BP firearms are still subject to rust and corrosion they don’t experience with the original Black. What has your experience been in this regard?

Great video! I have heard that using a larger diameter ball gives more surface for the rifling to engage thus giving more friction and causes the powder to burn better and in turn give more pressure/velocity and more consistency. Patiently waiting on the test with the conicals..................... are we there yet?
Watched this today, looking forward to conical test. Good job on your videos!
Clean up seemed the same to me after firing Triple 7 as it does with black powder. I didn’t reall notice a difference.

Ha, ha! I’ve heard the same thing about larger diameter balls. Don’t worry, the conical are coming!

Did the .451 balls shave a ring of lead when loading? If not that could account for the deviation in velocity. Personally I run .457 balls in all my cap and balls since the Old Armys are designed for them. Simplifies logistics. If you would like to try some .457 round balls send me a pm.
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.
The .451's did shave a ring of lead when I seated them in my Pietta NMA's. I've got some .454's, and I'm going to give them a try soon. Thanks for the offer!

Got home from a long day at work yesterday, after supper, I kicked back on the couch, thought....."I really don't need a Remington New Army to go with my 1860 Army"
grabbed my tablet, youtube, this video was the first thing that came up.
watched it, and now I can't stop thinking about Rem NMA's again

Thanks! I’ve got a pound of 777 that has been sitting on the shelf for years. I didn’t know what to do with it. Now with your video I can load my Colt’s Army .44’s with it. I usually use Goex in my Army .44’s and Swiss in my Sharps.
Has anyone damaged a loading lever using .457" balls instead of .451" balls? Especially in a Remington NMA.
Good luck, it seems like they're all pretty scarce right now. I would like to get a "Sheriff's Model" 1860 Army, and I can't find one to save my life!
