Not into growing them, but I have put a few pounds of hops through the brewing kettle.
like mine in beer
ok I have a few plants that are survivors of the great blights that wiped out the New York industry around WWl, or prior 1880. I have picked about a bushel. Now what?

Where I live at the 40th parallel or so, traditional humulus lupulus is marginal at best because it wants longer day lengths (and more water). So those vines have never really produced and next spring I will be evicting them from their choice spots in the yard. However, humulus neomexicanus (New Mexican hops) is ideally suited for my climate and holy cow have the vines been doing great this year. The big one in the backyard made it to the second story gutters and produced the biggest crop yet. The little vine in the front yard didn't grow that high, but produced its first crop and the cones were almost 3 inches long.
Pick them and dry them promptly.
When you care enough to send the very best, send an ounce of lead.
Use a small dehydrator. I grew for several years in central MS. Used in my brews, worked well for aroma, Put some in a pillowcase if you can't sleep...
I thought you ment gun cleaner.

My family raised hops for years. I think the last ones were pulled out in the early 70’s by my uncle. My father pulled our “yards” in ‘67.
Very few buyers then, many growers. An easy recipe for price manipulation against the farmers.

I would like to buy a pound or two of Cascade and Fuggles if any one has excess.
